SUPERWOMAN: How I Juggle Narcolepsy, Pregnancy & Heartburn!

💕 Hello PWN Family!

I’m excited to share my second pregnancy update — I’m 16 weeks along and expecting a baby girl!

According to the baby apps, she’s now the size of an avocado (🥑), though I swear she’s already making her presence known in bigger ways… hello, surprise heartburn.

🔥 The Ups, the Downs… and the Heartburn

So far, I’ve avoided morning sickness, which I’m grateful for. But the heartburn? Out of control. Even water sets it off.

Bananas, almond butter, alkaline water — all no-go foods for me right now.
My safest option? Italian wedding soup. And lots of it.

⚖️ Weight Check-ins and Wellness

One thing I’ve been keeping an eye on is my weight. Even deep into my second trimester, the scale hasn’t moved much. If anything, I’ve lost a little.

Thankfully, my doctors aren’t worried. They reminded me that most weight gain typically happens in the third trimester. Baby girl is healthy and active, which is what matters most.

📸 Ultrasound Highlights

At our latest ultrasound, she was bouncing around so much that the tech had trouble getting a clear image. We still got a few “glamour shots,” and seeing her profile was surreal.

If the old wives’ tales are true, all this heartburn means she’s coming out with a full head of hair — just like her mama.

😴 Managing Narcolepsy During Pregnancy

On top of all the usual pregnancy symptoms, I’m managing narcolepsy, too. It’s a lot.

What helps:

  • Getting structured rest

  • Staying honest about my energy limits

  • Practicing self-compassion

  • Celebrating the small wins

Some days are smoother than others, but I’m learning to listen to my body in a whole new way.

📅 Looking Ahead

I’ve got another checkup next week, and I’m both nervous and excited to see how much she’s grown. For now, I’m focusing on rest, hydration, health, and a whole lot of gratitude.
