This Privacy Policy explains how PWN4PWN (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information from individuals (“you” or “your”) who engage with our NapChat Community hosted on the Circle platform, or use related applications and services.

We’re committed to safeguarding your information while creating a safe, supportive space for people with narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia. By participating in the Community, you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please refrain from using the Community.

1. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we do, we’ll update the “Last Updated” date above and notify you in-platform or via email if changes are substantial. We encourage you to review this page regularly.

We collect only the data necessary to provide a meaningful, secure experience in our community.

A. Information You Provide Voluntarily

• Registration Info: Name, email, username, and profile info during account setup.

   

• Profile Content: Anything you choose to share like interests, experiences, or images.

   

• Posts & Messages: Content you post in discussions or send via direct messages.

   

• Payment Info: Collected by trusted third parties (e.g., Stripe) when making donations or purchases.

   

Note: Sharing in the NapChat community is always voluntary. Only post what you’re comfortable sharing.

B. Information Collected Automatically

• Device & Usage Data: We collect anonymized data such as your device type, browser, and how you interact with the platform.

   

• Cookies: Used to personalize your experience and analyze platform use.

   

C. From Integrated Platforms

If you connect other accounts (e.g., Zoom, Notion), we may receive related info with your permission.

13. Circle-Specific Terms

Since our community is hosted on Circle, your data may also be subject to Circle’s Privacy Policy. We recommend reviewing their policy to understand how your data is managed by the platform provider.

14. Community Data Insights & Research (TREND)

As part of our mission to improve understanding and treatment of narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia (IH), PWN4PWN partners with TREND Community, a patient-powered research platform that helps generate anonymized insights from community conversations.

With your participation, anonymized content shared in NapChat or other spaces may be aggregated and de-identified by TREND to better understand patterns, needs, and lived experiences in our community. These insights may be used to create reports that benefit public awareness, support advocacy efforts, or inform programs and services for our community.

What’s important to know:

• You are never identified. All data is de-identified before analysis.

   

• No data is sold. TREND is a for-profit company, but any data shared externally is anonymized and shared to support rare disease advancement.

   

• You can opt out. If you do not want your contributions considered in these anonymized insights, email us at legal@pwn4pwn.org and we’ll ensure your participation is excluded.

   

We believe in transparency and the power of community-led research. Our partnership with TREND is guided by the principle that better care begins by listening to people directly impacted by sleep disorders.
