💕 Hello PWN Family!
It’s hard to believe, but I’m officially 26 weeks pregnant — and yes, the baby is now the size of an acorn squash. If that sounds peaceful and cozy, I assure you: it’s been anything but.
Pregnancy with narcolepsy isn’t just hard. It’s brutal.
But I’m still standing. And so is this baby — who is apparently training for the Olympics.
Here’s what’s been going on lately — the real, unfiltered version.
🌀 Ultrasound Mayhem
Back at my 20-week ultrasound, baby girl would not stop moving.
We had six different technicians come in, one after the other, each trying different angles and different tools. But no matter what they tried, we couldn’t get all the key measurements.
We did, however, manage to get this one photo — legs completely over her face.
So yes, she’s either going to be a gymnast, a dancer, or maybe the future host of NapChat.
⏳ The Rescheduled 26-Week Ultrasound
I was scheduled for a follow-up four weeks later… but due to delays, it got pushed to 26 weeks. When I arrived for the appointment, I was told I didn’t even have an ultrasound on the books.
Cue the stress.
They scrambled to make it work — but walking into a situation like that, exhausted and dealing with narcolepsy, was more than frustrating. It’s the kind of logistical chaos that feels even heavier when you’re running on limited energy to begin with.
💉 Glucose Test Surprise
As if that weren’t enough, I failed my one-hour glucose test — by about ten points.
I hadn’t fasted beforehand (because I was told I didn’t need to), so it wasn’t a total shock… but still, it was hard news to hear. I’ll be following up with my care team and doing the longer test to get a clearer picture.
So far, both baby and I are doing well, and we’re staying proactive.
📈 A Very Big Baby
And then there’s this: she’s measuring in the 94th percentile.
That means she’s a big baby — healthy, active, and very much making her presence known. It also means we’re keeping a closer eye on everything from now through delivery.
🎉 Baby Shower & Name Reveal
We recently celebrated our baby shower, and it was such a blessing.
That’s where we finally shared her name:
Eliana Jane.
“Eliana” is Hebrew for God has answered our prayer.
And “Jane” means God’s gracious gift.
We chose her name to reflect the meaning and the miracle behind this entire journey.
To everyone who sent gifts, well wishes, and love: thank you.
We feel so supported.
🧠 For Those Navigating Pregnancy + Narcolepsy
If you’re pregnant and also living with narcolepsy or hypersomnia, I see you.
This isn’t easy. The fatigue is different. The symptoms don’t pause for pregnancy.
But your strength is real — even when you don’t feel it.
If you’ve been through it (or are in it now), I’d love to hear your story.
Share in the comments or reach out — we’re building a community that doesn’t sugarcoat the truth.
More to come as we approach the third trimester.
Until then, sending you rest, strength, and solidarity.
